Being Bowie’s Hands – A Lunchtime Talk
13 March 13:00 - 13:30
Fitzrovia resident Clifford Slapper is a pianist, producer, composer and author. He worked with David Bowie as pianist. He played for Bowie’s last ever television appearance in the world. He is also author of “Bowie’s Piano Man”, the authorised biography of Bowie’s most frequent collaborator since 1972, Mike Garson. Clifford Slapper also produced the acclaimed album “Bowie Songs One” which saw numerous singers reinventing songs from Bowie’s vast and rich back catalogue, arranged for just piano and voice. Clifford will regale us with some fascinating tales and anecdotes which will appeal to anyone interested in the man behind the songs, and his glittering legacy.
This lunchtime talk is free and you don’t need to book. Places are limited. It is part of the show, David Bowie – A London Day (1 to 20 March)
