IN ATTENDANCE – Paying attention in a fragile world
10 January 2025 11:00 - 18:00
Opening the 2025 exhibition season in London is a new collaborative exhibition from the Roberts Institute of Art in partnership with the Fitzrovia Chapel.
In Attendance is curated by the Roberts Institute of Art and presents a selection of paintings, sculptures and video by UK and international contemporary artists from the David and Indrė Roberts Collection. The works are displayed in the context of the historic Fitzrovia Chapel, originally built as part of the Middlesex Hospital, and for decades used as a place of respite, prayer and contemplation for medical staff, patients and visitors alike.
The exhibition, part of the chapel’s cultural programme, includes work by eleven artists – Etel Adnan, Emmanuel Awuni, Phyllida Barlow, Berlinde De Bruyckere, Gabriella Boyd, Miriam Cahn, Eve Sussman, Rachel Kneenbone, Anj Smith, Paula Rego and Cathy Wilkes. The works included by Rachel Kneebone, Eve Sussman, Cathy Wilkes and Emmanuel Awuni have not been displayed before outside a commercial gallery setting.
