About Dorian and Ugnė
Dorian Demeny was introduced to the classical guitar by his father and has
given his first concert debut at the age of six. Since then, his exceptional
musical abilities have earned him invitations to perform at numerous concert
venues across Europe, complimented by live broadcasts on SWR2 radio.
Alongside his solo career, Dorian has showcased his talents as a soloist with
orchestras, collaborated with vocalists, spoken word artists and actors, and
contributed to various chamber music projects and ensembles over the course
of his career.
He is award winner of numerous competitions and has performed at
international guitar festivals alongside renowned musicians on the classical
guitar scene. His academic journey began at the junior department of the State
University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, where Dorian pursued a
Bachelor of Music degree under the mentorship of Prof. Tillmann Reinbeck and
Prof. Johannes Monno. His musical proficiency extends beyond the classical
guitar, highlighting his versatility as a musician.
During his undergrad studies, he received additional support by Prof. Wolfgang
Schmid (Klaus Doldinger’s Passport) and Prof. Mini Schulz, enabling him to
perform at Stuttgart’s most iconic jazz venues. Furthermore, Dorian’s
dedication and talent were recognised during his time as a scholar under the
mentorship of Gary Ryan and Christopher Stell at the Royal College of Music,
where he was awarded with the Royal College of Music London Guitar Prize.
About Ugne
Ugnė Liepa Žuklytė made her solo debut with orchestra at the age of 8, and a
concerto debut with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra (LNSO)
when she was 12 years old, where she performed F. Mendelssohn-Bartholdy‘s
violin concerto in E minor. Her recent solo performance was in the Oginskis
Festival in Lithuania in September 2022, where she performed Mozart’s 5th
violin concerto. Ugnė is a winner of numerous national and international violin
competitions, and has been awarded the Medal of Queen Morta for her
achievements. Honorary conductor of the LNSO Juozas Domarkas has said:
„In my view, she is an exceptionally gifted and serious young artist with
excellent natural technical and emotional features and, most importantly, a
serious attitude towards the subject-matter of the music she is performing, as
well as to the original idea of the composer, which is rarely seen for musicians
of young age“.
Ugnė has participated in masterclasses with many distinguished violin
professors and soloists, including Maxim Vengerov, Lynn Chang, Zakhar Bron,
Petru Munteanu, Sergei Krylov, Pavel Berman, Marianne Piketty, Boris
Garlitsky and Francesca Dego. Ugnė Liepa has been supported by the
Rostropovich Foundation during the years of 2012-2018. Currently she is an
ABRSM Scholar, studying in her last year for an undergraduate degree at the
Royal College of Music. Her professor is Radu Blidar.
