Job Title: Weddings and Events Duty Manager
Location: The Fitzrovia Chapel, London
Type: Part-time, 16 hours a week including weekend and evening work
Reporting to: Weddings and Commercial Manager
Salary: £14,883.60
Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Weddings and Events Duty Manager to oversee the planning and execution of a proportion of our weddings and various events, ensuring a seamless and high-quality experience for our visitors and their guests. This role is vital for maintaining our reputation as a premier event destination and is critical to the charity’s financial sustainability. The expectation is that the role holder will normally work three weekends a month and include some events admin.
Key Responsibilities:
• Event Management: Manage a proportion of weddings and events held at the chapel, ensuring all aspects run smoothly and meet the high standards expected by our visitors.
• Team Leadership: Work with a small team of events staff, fostering a positive working environment.
• Customer Service: Act as the main point of contact for clients on particular days and by email, providing exceptional customer service and addressing any concerns promptly and professionally.
• Event Setup and Breakdown: Oversee the setup and breakdown of a proportion of events, ensuring all logistical needs are met.
• Quality Assurance: Maintain high standards of service and presentation throughout all events, ensuring the chapel remains an exemplary venue for high-end hospitality.
• Ambassadorial Role: Represent the Fitzrovia Chapel at events, engaging with clients and guests,and promoting the chapel’s mission and charitable work.
• Flexibility: Be prepared to work at least three weekends a month and one evening per week, including some unsociable hours and lone working.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in high-end hospitality or event management, preferably in a similar role.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
• Experience in managing a team, with the ability to motivate and lead by example.
• Proficient in administrative tasks, including customer service.
• Interest in heritage and the arts, with an understanding of the role of charities in the community is an advantage.
• Flexibility to work outside of standard hours as needed.
